In 2003, SENER Grupo de Ingeniería and the Sendagorta family created the SENER Foundation, with the aim of promoting initiatives and activities based on:

• serving social ends at the community level, through training
• developing the socially responsible side to professional activity.

How the SENER Foundation contributes to society

We award annual scholarships combining work and study to students who have shown an interest both intellectually and professionally, but who lack the economic means to receive a high level of training in the engineering field.

So far, these scholarships have been awarded to students from Eastern European and Latin American countries.

Financing engineering projects that contribute to developing underprivileged areas or groups.

Awards

Both SENER and the Foundation present the annual SENER Award for the best progress made in the Programming Languages course at the Higher Technical School of Naval Engineers at the Polytechnic University of Madrid.

Work from this course’s most outstanding pupils is recognized with a diploma and cash prize.

Collaboration between foundations

The Foundation collaborates in joint initiatives with other groups such as the Fundación Carolina and the Repsol Foundation.

One of our latest initiatives involves working with the Fundación NIDO, an organization that provides assistance to people with physical, mental and sensory disabilities, especially those affected by profound cerebral palsy.

With the help of veteran engineers from the company, the SENER Foundation is developing a project that aims to optimize wheel chairs used by people with these types of disabilities.
