MASDAR controls 40% of Torresol Energy and contributes with this initiative to diversifying Abu Dhabi’s economy and strengthening the country’s image as an active agent in the global fight for the sustainable development of the Planet.

In 2006 MASDAR is founded in Abu Dhabi, a multi-faceted company with the commitment to discover, develop and commercialize renewable and alternative technology, including solar power.

Its main activity is setting up new firms and acquiring strategic holdings in existing companies both in and outside the country. MASDAR´s objective is to generate sustainable economic profits for Abu Dhabi through a careful selection of opportunities for association with local, regional and international investors.
