This mixed capital company (public and private) specializes in solid waste treatment in the Bilbao, Spain area, and is part of the Plan de Gestión Integral de Residuos de la Diputación Foral de Vizcaya (Integrated Waste Management Plan of the Biscay Provincial Government). TRACJUSA is a pig manure treatment plant that uses surplus porcine materials in its VALPUREN® process and is located in Juneda, Lleida (Spain). The patent for this process is shared by SENER, and includes anaerobic co-digestion of pig manure.

Each of these plants is able to treat 100,000 metric tons of pig manure per year, recovering 5,000 metric tons of organic-mineral fertilizer per year, with an installed cogeneration capacity of 16.5 MWe.
